As summer airfares soar

As summer airfares soar

The Grand Air Card now holds even greater consumer appeal as summer airfares increase. The card can be purchased in increments of $100 or $500 and is valid for discounts on round-trip flights of $200 or more. In light of the following breaking news, the Grand Air Card offers a higher perceived value than ever before.

Industry-wide Increases

FareCompare, the airfare monitoring website, last week noted significant increases in domestic airline ticket prices for both business and leisure passengers – which means summer airfares for vacation flights will cost more.

Delta recently initiated a domestic business airfare hike of between $40 and $120 round -trip that was widely matched by other legacy airlines in the ensuing 24 hours. This hike on walk-up and last-minute departures follows on the heels of a similar hike last week for business travelers who typically pay more than $800 round-trip for their tickets.

More importantly for cost-conscious leisure travelers, the airlines have just begun putting “travel date” fences on their cheapest airfare so that discounted seats can only be purchased through mid-June, thereby bumping the cheapest summer airfare prices by as much as $250 round-trip.

On top of these base domestic price increases for summer departures, airlines also continue to file peak travel surcharges for summer departure dates of between $20 and $60 round trip – with the higher amounts on the busiest departure days of the week.

The Silver Lining

The Grand Air gift card offers peace of mind in knowing that in this age of ever-changing airfare, airline tickets will cost $25 to $100 less.

The Grand Air card is reusable up to $500; it’s flexible and can be applied toward the recipient’s and their family’s airfare. Call 941-552-7885 to learn more.

Wonderful blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused .. Any suggestions? Cheers!

      Hi Inoa,

Thanks for your comment! WordPress templates provide a great start for beginners and experienced bloggers alike. There are many templates available for free and for purchase. For purchase, we recommend is another good one. Whichever you choose, be sure you have access to a community forum to help answer any questions you might have as you get started. Good luck!
